So after reading my copy of Serenity: Better Days, (be sure to go and pick your copy up too) I happened along an ad for 'Can't Stop the Serenity'. Intrigued by the advertisemnt I followed the link, and found out that supporters of the show have been organizing 'private' screenings of Serenity since 2006 to help aid Joss' favourite charity Equality Now. I wasn't surprised to see that Vancouver has their own showing this year at the Pacific Cinematheque. As far as I can tell from the Vancouver website, there should be tickets available for the June 22nd showing but I could be wrong.
Last year sounded like a lot of fun especially with Jewel Staite (aka Kaylee) being a special guest. If she makes it again for this year's showing then I am definitely down for going and checking this out in June.

It's really good times. I went last year, but wound up spending most of my time arguing my position on River/Jayne fan fiction (my position being it's wrong).
Glad to see it's still going, I heard the Vnacouver Browncoats had been suffering from some member fall off.

Just wanted to correct a couple of things. The Vancouver 2008 screening for Equality Now (not Equity Now) is taking place at The Norm Theatre, in the Student Union Building at UBC on Sunday, June 22nd, from 11 am to 6 pm. This year, a part of the net proceeds will also be going to BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre, about which we are very happy. Check out our blog for more information.
Also, at 310 members of the BC Browncoats, we are actually the largest Browncoat Meetup group registered.

Thanks for the clear-up, I should've caught that one.
Congrats on having the biggest Browncoat Meetup group, I'm a bit surprised about that little tid-bit.
