I was absolutely blown away by Favreau's Iron Man. Downey Jr's Tony Stark is an awesome portrayal of the character and the rest of the cast was great too. Great armour designs and visual effects and excellent pacing throughout.

While, in my opinion, Batman Begins is still the superhero film to beat Iron Man does come close. It's probably my favourite flick out of the Marvel camp, save Spider-Man 2.

i agree Batman Begins is still the best comic book film, but Iron is probably tied with Spidy 2 as Marvel's best comic book film. Spidy 2 may get the edge from many due to the fact that he is more popular then any other marvel character. But Iron Man is pretty close, a great way to start a franchise, i just hope in the sequel they have a more worthy opponent imo. But thats just me

I have a new found respect for the character of Iron Man. Originally I was not a big fan of ol' shellhead, but after watching this movie I feel that I can give him more of a chance.

The movie itself was a very big surprise for me. I knew that Robert Downey Jr. was going to be a great Tony Stark, but I wasn't expecting him to be that damn good. From start to finish the entire flick was very entertaining, and was almost tempted to watch the movie a 2nd time in one night. (a second viewing is still a possibility). I felt that Terrence Howard was good as the future War Machine, and Gwyneth Paltrow played an excellent Pepper Potts. I was exploding with pure joy and geek-dom with all the small references that you get. This move is super extra enjoyable for all you comic book geeks/fans out there.

Sum it all up quite nicely Smile

really enjoyed the movie! Wasn't just full of mindless action, and had a pretty good story with decent character development. Glad it wasn't made for 6 year olds.
