***WARNING***
May contain spoilers and personal opinions.
When I picked up the first part of One More Day, I just had this feeling to was going to be way too emo and retcon-y. Don't even ask me why I kept on reading (I'm a junkie that way). And I wasn't disappointed. Well actually I was. Very. Sure I never really approved of MJ and Peter in the first place, but they could have come up with a better reason (and method) for splitting them up. Since when can Mephisto alter the fabric of reality? How come Harry's just randomly alive again? Why the frak is Peter Parker a total pimp?!
Brand New Day didn't get much better. Starts off with probably one of the most awkward looking kisses I've even seen in comics, got boring, and ended with me angry. If Jameson actually dies, I quit. Amazing Spider-Man = off my subscription list.
Oh who am I kidding.
Of course I'll keep reading. It's like a slow motion train wreck. And if this whole back-to-basics approach doesn't go over well with the fans, at least Marvel's left themselves a way out.
Just say this Parker's a skrull.

I am sensing a disturbing trend.
Every issue of Brand New Day is going to start with an awkward full page kiss.

Nice. Too bad the quality of ASM has severly dropped off since that third issue of BND. _________________ Please check out my blog:

| Even though the bachalo/wells arc hasn't started yet on ASM, lets hope that they hopefully pick things up and on the 2nd run around, lets all hope that everything gets better. I still enjoyed the McNiven/Slott arc though.

I've had to drop ASM. Its hands down the title I have the most issues of with about 90% of a complete run going. It was hard to do but I just have to vote with my wallet on the changes. Its really just too much. Magic my ass. It just doesn't fly with me. I'll pick up this years 36 issues in a year for $2 a book I'm sure. _________________ What's in my long boxes? http://www.comicspriceguide.com/world/default.asp?m=icebreaka

quoted for truth.
I am pretty much on the same boat as you Ice, except I don't have an as extensive run of ASM as you. I find that putting out 3 books in a month is cool, because if you like the story that they're running then you're lucky because you don't have to wait as long as before. But, if you hate the story that's currently running, then you can drop it and wait for the next one. The main problem with this, is that most comic book readers out there are collectors, and hate the 'gaps' in their row. I know I hate this a lot, sometimes its inevitable but it can be later worked out. You have the right idea as well, just waiting a year down the line and picking them up at a con from the cheap-o bins.
I think after the next creative gets on, I'll be jumping off of ASM as well.
