There's no time like the present to start talking about next year's trip. If this year is any indication of what is going to happen for SDCC 08 then it's going to be one hell of a show.

As of right now, we've "reserved" rooms at the Marriot right beside the convention center. If anyone has been to a con where you've been fortunate enough to stay in a hotel right beside where all the action is, then you know that that is the way to go.

If anyone here is interested in going with us to the big show then let's start talking about some plans.

Are you guys driving down there? I had planned to go this year but I was too busy trying to get out of "academic probation." Plus, I don't know where the heck to begin. There's so much to do.. like meet artists, get sketches, buy comics, buy sketchbooks, buy figures, attend panels, take pictures of anything that looks interesting.. man.. there might not be enough time..

You would think that having 4 days of con (5 with pre reg) that there would be enough to do all that stuff. Sadly, there really isn't enough time to do everything.

Usually I hit up all the artists/sketchbook stuff first, because everyone gets booked through the entire weekend.

Yes we will be driving down as well.

Cool! It's probably too soon to say for sure but I'm definitely down with going down there with you guys, if there's room, and banning any unforseen commitments.. I'm hoping to get sketches from Ryan Ottley and the Udon guys but that's probably hoping for too much.

I went this past summer and my girl and I are pretty much 90% on going back again. Best 'week I had all year hands down. Probably not into going in for a room with your guys but will definitely say hi. That hotel would be the best place to be, we ended up staying about 20 minutes by transit away which was fine but I'm sure staying at the Marriot you'd soak up every last minute.

I've already processed my reg, so I'm good to go for the con this year.

Anyone else decide if they're going yet?

I still need to reg. I'll do it by the end of the week.

Just couldn't wait that long could you?

I am really really really looking forward to going to this year's con, especially after missing 2007's show.

Is anyone else here planning on going? It's totally worth it if you can make it out there. You will have the time of your life.

My money (what little I actially have of it) has already gone to sending me to Radiohead, so SDCC is a bust this year...again!

One day I will go...one day. Until then, I'll just have to spend one week every year hounding you all for by the minute updates.

I've decided to give this year's SDCC a miss. I don't have anything coming out before then, Although, I just found out that POSTCARDS, the anthology I did art for, has been nominated for an Eisner! Shocked

I saw a few copies at Chapters (Robson & Howe) and I think I even saw a copy at Golden Age... which means Hell must have frozen over! Laughing

If you're eligible to vote for the Eisners, I can forward you an email from the Postcards editor who is offering free copies to select people. If you can vote, drop me an email and we'll see what we can do!

And, thanks for the congrats! Very Happy
