The reason why I say Sinestro Corps went under the radar is because you didn't really see much 'hype' or advertisement for it. It was always Countdown-this and Countdown-that with DC Comics, no doubt trying to get the excitement up for a series that has dragged on for way too long.
For those of you who are not familiar with what's been going on with the Green Lantern essentially Sinestro has formed himself his own corps of ring slingers. Instead of having green rings like the normal lanterns, Sinestro's new corps sling yellow ones. With yellow being the GL's one time weakness, its is only fitting that yellow ring-bearers have the ability to instill great fear. Now with an army behind his back and generals like Hank Henshaw the Manhunter Grandmaster, Superboy Prime, Parallax, and the Anti-Montior Sinestro plans on taking the fight to OA and the whole Lantern Corps.
The final issue in the story hit the shelves this week, and made a significant impact in my opinion. The 64-page beast is constant excitement from cover to cover, well worth the extra coinage and I can safely say that it was my pick of the week. A lot of big crossover story-lines tend to build up to an ending that leaves you wanting more. Such is the same with the Sinestro Corps crossover, but it it left you in a good way. All I can say is that 2009 will be a crazy year for the lanterns, and 2 years (more like 1, since 2007 is almost done) is just too much time to wait after a revelation like that.
The only thing left to say is, "in Blackest Night" folks. In Blackest Night.

Man, I'm so frustrated that I missed a few issues of Green Lantern around issues 5 and 6 and decided to drop the book. I should have gotten back into it as soon as I could but now I'm more than 20 issues out and finding those will be tough. _________________ Please check out my blog:
