Can't believe it took me this long to notice this really useful GVRD tool.
If you go to http://www.vpl.ca/VPL/gateway.html
you'll see link to "Outlook Online" "Books in BC libraries."
Click on that link and you'll end up at site which searches British Columbia libraries (public and academic)
(edit: added this paragraph) Use "Keyword Search" (link near top) .. NOT "Browse" search. Keyword Search works, but I found NOTHING with Browse search.)
Searched for Y The Last Man and got Books 1-3, 5-7.
But for some reason it doesn't list two YTLM books
* Book 4 (there are 9 copies at VPL)
* Book 8 (there are 4 copies at VPL + a newly acquired copy)
Searched for Strangehaven and got "Locations: (1)" .. but it doesn't say which library system has it. (NOT at VPL, Bowen Island, Burnaby, Coquitlam nor Port Moody, Fraser Valley, Gibsons, New West, neither North Van libraries, Richmond, Sechelt, Squamish , Surrey, West Van, nor Whistler)

VPL website survey
(survey was at surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=174063885704 )
"We’re redesigning Vancouver Public Library’s website and want your help. What do you want on the website? What does your ideal library website look like?
The survey will take 5-10 minutes to complete. You may remember a previous survey. Please reply again. ..."
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Here's some of the things I entered into the survey:
Quote:
2. What are the most common reasons you use the VPL website?
*a* see if VPL has a specific comic book
*b* suggest purchase of a specific comic book (if VPL doesn't have already)
*c* check account (for holds to pickup, for books to renew, etc)
Branch locations and hours: Very important
...
Events and programs at the library :Somewhat important
Chat and email reference : Very important
...
Library catalogue : Very important
...
Have Outlook Online be easier to find. (Outlook Online = Books in BC libraries.)
Have VPL's Interlibrary Loan webpage link to Outlook Online. Example: North Vancouver District library's interlibrary loan page ( http://www.nvdpl.ca/research/iloans.htm ) links to Outlook Online.

9. Excluding search engines (e.g. Google) what are your favourite websites?

VPL successes that I noticed today..
VPL has ordered:
* two (2) copies of Grounded TPB (I posted my request to this thread 2007 Jan 9)
* eight (8 ) copies of Y : The Last Man : Motherland, vol 9 TPB (I posted my request to this thread 2007 May 12)
I'm very pleased with the amount of Grounded they ordered.
In my opinion it is better for a library to order (for example) 2 copies of 5 publications, then 5 copies of only two publications.

That's the book that has some of my work in it. So if you have the chance, have a look and let know what you think of the book and/or of my work in the book. _________________
